Pigmentación dental y suplementación ferrosa en niños de 2 a 4 años asistentes al Clas La Esperanza, Huancayo 2025.

Abstract

El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la relación entre la pigmentación dental y suplementación ferrosa en niños de 2 a 4 años asistentes al centro de salud la esperanza en Huancayo. Se evaluó una muestra no probabilística por conveniencia de 80 infantes. El estudio fue de tipo observacional, correlacional, no experimental y de corte transversal. Los resultados evidenciaron que no hubo relación significativa entre la pigmentación dental y variables como el tiempo, la ingesta o la dosis de suplementación ferrosa (p = 0.097; p = 0.704; p = 0.672, respectivamente). Sin embargo, el análisis general reveló una relación estadísticamente significativa entre la suplementación ferrosa y la pigmentación dental (p = 0.008). Se concluye que el consumo de hierro líquido puede influir en la aparición de pigmentaciones dentarias.

The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between dental pigmentation and iron supplementation in children aged 2 to 4 years attending the La Esperanza health center in Huancayo. A non-probabilistic convenience sample of 80 infants was evaluated. The study was observational, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between dental pigmentation and variables such as time, intake, or dose of iron supplementation (p = 0.097; p = 0.704; p = 0.672, respectively). However, the overall analysis revealed a statistically significant relationship between iron supplementation and dental pigmentation (p = 0.008). It is concluded that the consumption of liquid iron may influence the appearance of dental pigmentation.
