Abstract
El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la relación de diabetes mellitus con la enfermedad renal en los pacientes adultos que acuden al Hospital Militar Central. La investigación es de tipo descriptivo, observacional. Los cambios en el estilo de vida pueden prevenir el desarrollo de la forma más común de diabetes tipo 2, en una muestra total de 79 pacientes. Los principales resultados son: el 34,2% son mayores de 70 años, el 75,9% tienen instrucción superior, el 53,2% son casados, el 75,9% presentan HTA y el 38,3% fueron diagnosticados antes de 1 año; el 81,0% presentan insuficiencia renal y el 32,8%. Se concluyó que se relacionan los niveles de glicemia con los niveles de filtración glomerular en los pacientes adultos que acuden al Hospital Militar Central.

The research is descriptive, observational. Lifestyle changes can prevent the development of the most common form of type 2 diabetes, in a total sample of 79 patients. The main results are: 34.2% are older than 70 years, 75.9% have higher education, 53.2% are married, 75.9% present HT and 38.3% were diagnosed before 1 year; 81.0% present renal insufficiency and 32.8%.
