Conocimiento y consumo de prednisona en adultos mayores a partir de los 40 años en la botica Bifarma, Chiclayo 2023.

Abstract

El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre el consumo de prednisona en adultos mayores a partir de los 40 años en la Botica Bifarma. El estudio adopta un método científico, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo descriptivo, diseño no experimental. La muestra fue conformada por 75 personas. Los resultados evidencian que el 68% fueron varones y 32% mujeres, las causas que motivan su consumo son las reacciones alérgicas graves (24%), niveles deficientes de corticosteroides (16%) y afecciones en los pulmones, piel, ojos, riñones, sangre, tiroides, estómago e intestinos (13%); las reacciones adversas son dolor de garganta, fiebre, escalofríos, tos u otros signos. En conclusión, el nivel de conocimiento sobre el consumo de prednisona en adultos mayores es regular (39%).

The objective of the study was to determine the level of knowledge about the consumption of prednisone in older adults over 40 years of age in the Botica Bifarma. The study adopts a scientific method, quantitative approach, descriptive type, non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 75 people. The results show that 68% were men and 32% women, the causes that motivate their consumption are severe allergic reactions (24%), deficient levels of corticosteroids (16%) and affections in the lungs, skin, eyes, kidneys, blood, thyroid, stomach and intestines (13%); the adverse reactions are sore throat, fever, chills, cough or other signs. In conclusion, the level of knowledge about prednisone use in older adults is fair (39%).
