Abstract
El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la actividad antiinflamatoria del gel con extracto etanólico de hojas de Tropaeolum tuberosum Ruiz & Pav. “mashua roja” en ratones albinos. La investigación fue de tipo experimental. La muestra estuvo conformada por ratones albinos sometidos al modelo de edema auricular inducido por xileno. Los resultados evidenciaron una actividad antiinflamatoria dependiente de la concentración, obteniéndose porcentajes de inhibición de 11.85%, 19.72% y 23.13% para los geles al 1%, 3% y 5%, respectivamente, mientras que el diclofenaco alcanzó 28.26%. El análisis estadístico mostró diferencias significativas entre los grupos (p < 0.05). Se concluye que el gel con extracto etanólico de hojas de Tropaeolum tuberosum presenta actividad antiinflamatoria significativa, respaldando su potencial terapéutico como alternativa natural en procesos inflamatorios.

The research was experimental. The sample consisted of albino mice subjected to a xylene-induced atrial edema model. The results showed concentration-dependent anti-inflammatory activity, with inhibition percentages of 11.85%, 19.72%, and 23.13% for the 1%, 3%, and 5% gels, respectively, while diclofenac reached 28.26%. Statistical analysis showed significant differences between the groups (p < 0.05).
