Abstract
El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo describir las características de los factores asociados a la automedicación con antibióticos en usuarios de una cadena de farmacia de Huancayo durante el año 2024. Se empleó un enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básico o teórico y diseño no experimental. La muestra fue de 140 usuarios. Los resultados mostraron que en los factores demográficos más del 50% de los usuarios son adultos, del sexo femenino, cuentan con estudios superiores y tienen un sueldo mayor al mínimo vital; en los factores sociales, más del 60 % acude en primera instancia a la farmacia, adquieren y reciben recomendaciones y en los factores culturales, la mayoría de los usuarios sienten vergüenza de acudir al médico. Se concluyo que los factores demográficos, sociales y culturales influyen en la automedicación con antibióticos.
This study aimed to describe the characteristics of factors associated with antibiotic self-medication among users of a pharmacy chain in Huancayo during 2024. A quantitative, basic or theoretical approach with a non-experimental design was employed. The sample consisted of 140 users. The results showed that, in terms of demographic factors, more than 50% of users were adults, female, had higher education, and earned above the minimum wage; in terms of social factors, more than 60% went to the pharmacy as their first point of contact, where they purchased and received recommendations; and in terms of cultural factors, most users felt embarrassed to see a doctor. It was concluded that demographic, social, and cultural factors influence antibiotic self-medication.
