Conocimiento sobre profilaxis antibiótica de endocarditis infecciosa en Estudiantes de Estomatología en una Universidad de Huancayo, 2025

Abstract

El estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar el nivel de conocimiento sobre la profilaxis antibiótica de la endocarditis infecciosa en estudiantes de Estomatología de la Universidad Franklin Roosevelt, Huancayo, durante el semestre 2025-I. Se realizó una investigación básica, no experimental y descriptiva, con una muestra de 74 estudiantes de octavo y noveno ciclo. Los datos se obtuvieron mediante encuestas estructuradas. Los resultados mostraron que el 51.35% presentó un nivel de conocimiento bajo y el 48.65% regular, sin niveles altos. Predominaron los niveles bajos en epidemiología, etiopatogenia, indicaciones de profilaxis y farmacología. En general, se concluye que el conocimiento es insuficiente entre los estudiantes evaluados.

The study aimed to assess the level of knowledge about antibiotic prophylaxis for infectious endocarditis among dentistry students at Franklin Roosevelt University, Huancayo, during the 2025-I semester. A basic, non-experimental, descriptive study was conducted with a sample of 74 students in their eighth and ninth semesters. Data were obtained through structured surveys. The results showed that 51.35% had a low level of knowledge and 48.65% had a moderate level, with no high levels. Low levels predominated in epidemiology, etiopathogenesis, indications for prophylaxis, and pharmacology. In general, it was concluded that knowledge was insufficient among the students evaluated.
