Abstract
La presente investigación tiene por objetivo identificar los eventos adversos en el tratamiento de diabetes mellitus tipo 2 causada por el uso de metformina en pacientes del Hospital Militar Central l, el método de estudio fue de tipo básico, descriptivo, observacional, de corte transversal, la muestra lo constituyeron 79 pacientes diabéticos. Los resultados indican que predomina el sexo femenino (55,7%), el 46,8% tienen de 41 a 50 años, Respecto a los parámetros de aplicación de metformina se determinó que el 74,7% de los pacientes usan tabletas de 850 mg vía oral, una vez por día, respecto a las enfermedades adicionales se determinó que el 31,6% presentan hipertensión arterial e hiperlipidemias y el 15,2% usan Enalapril + atorvastatina. En conclusión, la metformina es eficaz para el tratamiento de la DM tipo 2 ya que logra controlar la concentración de la glucosa en valores normales.
