Conocimiento y actitud en salud bucal en estudiantes de dos instituciones educativas estatal y privada, Puno, 2025

Abstract

El objetivo fue determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y actitud en salud bucal en estudiantes de dos instituciones, educativas estatal y privada, Puno 2025. Se realizó bajo un enfoque correlacional, descriptivo y de corte transversal. Se seleccionaron aleatoriamente 69 escolares de una institución educativa privada y 105 de una institución educativa pública. Los resultados revelaron que el nivel de conocimiento en salud bucal fue mayoritariamente regular (42.5%). La actitud en salud bucal predominó en el nivel normal (50.6%), con mayor frecuencia en la institución estatal (35.6%). En conclusión, se identificó una asociación moderada entre el nivel de conocimiento y la actitud hacia la salud bucal en estudiantes, con un coeficiente de Spearman de (R=0.423) y un valor de significancia de p = 0.000.

The objective was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude toward oral health in students from two educational institutions, one public and one private, in Puno, Peru, in 2025. A correlational, descriptive, and cross-sectional study was conducted. Sixty-nine students were randomly selected from a private educational institution and 105 from a public educational institution. The results revealed that the level of knowledge regarding oral health was mostly average (42.5%). Attitudes toward oral health were predominantly at the average level (50.6%), with a higher frequency observed in the public institution (35.6%). In conclusion, a moderate association was identified between the level of knowledge and attitudes toward oral health in students, with a Spearman's rank correlation coefficient (R = 0.423) and a significance level of p = 0.000.
