Abstract
Las afecciones gástricas por hiperacidez favorecen la automedicación con antiácidos de venta libre. Objetivo: determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre uso racional de antiácidos en padres de la Institución Educativa 9 de Julio, Concepción, 2026. Método: estudio básico, descriptivo simple, no experimental y transversal, con 114 padres estudiados seleccionados aleatoriamente de una población de 160. Se aplicó un cuestionario de 20 ítems, validado por expertos y confiable según KR-20=0,802. Resultados: 61,4 % presentó nivel medio, 25,4 % bajo y 13,2 % alto. Conclusión: predominó el nivel medio, con mayores brechas en indicaciones terapéuticas, efectos adversos e interacciones de los antiácidos.
Gastric conditions caused by hyperacidity encourage self-medication with over-the-counter antacids. Objective: to determine the level of knowledge regarding the rational use of antacids among parents at the 9 de Julio Educational Institution in Concepción. Method: a basic, simple descriptive, non-experimental, and cross-sectional study involving 114 randomly selected parents from a population of 160. A 20-item questionnaire was administered; it was validated by experts and demonstrated reliability (KR-20 = 0.802). Results: 61.4% of participants showed a medium level of knowledge, 25.4% a low level, and 13.2% a high level. Conclusion: a medium level of knowledge predominated, with the greatest gaps observed regarding therapeutic indications, adverse effects, and drug interactions associated with antacids.
