Conocimiento sobre hábitos de higiene bucal y caries dental en estudiantes de una institución educativa, Huari 2024

Abstract

El siguiente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre hábitos de higiene bucal y el índice de caries dental en estudiantes de una institución educativa de Huari 2024. Como método, se utilizó el diseño de tipo básica y no experimental, la ficha de recolección de datos se realizó mediante la observación y encuesta los instrumentos fueron la ficha de observación, se realizó mediante el resultado de la odontograma y cuestionario de 16 ítems .Los resultados de la prueba estadística Rho de Spearman, determinan que existe relación entre las variables Nivel Conocimiento elementos de higiene bucal y nivel de caries con un nivel de significancia de 0.002 (valor p < 0.005), siendo esta inversa (negativa) moderada con un coeficiente de correlación de -0.510.

The objective of the following study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge regarding oral hygiene habits and the dental caries index among students at an educational institution in Huari in 2024. Methodologically, a basic, non-experimental design was employed. Data collection was carried out through observation and surveys; the instruments utilized were an observation sheet—derived from the results of an odontogram—and a 16-item questionnaire. The results of the Spearman's Rho statistical test indicate that a relationship exists between the variables "level of knowledge regarding oral hygiene elements" and "level of dental caries," with a significance level of 0.002 (p-value < 0.005); this relationship is inverse (negative) and moderate, with a correlation coefficient of -0.510.
