Abstract
Es un estudio Observacional, Descriptivo y de corte transversal; la población formada es de 92 pacientes que cumplieron con los criterios de selección. La anomalía estudiada fue: caries dental en piezas dentarias deciduas y permanentes. Los resultados obtenidos demostraron que se observa la severidad de caries dental según la edad y el sexo de los niños, se puede observar mayor severidad del índice CPOD en los niños (2.09±3.40). Así mismo, según la edad, el grupo de edad de 12 años y 13 años presenta la mayor severidad del índice CPOD a diferencia de los otros grupos etarios (10.40±3.36 y 9.00±7.21 Se puede observar que, de los 92 niños evaluados, se muestra una distribución similar entre el sexo masculino y femenino 50% cada grupo
This was an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study; the population consisted of 92 patients who met the selection criteria. The anomaly studied was dental caries in deciduous and permanent teeth. The results obtained showed that the severity of dental caries was observed according to the age and sex of the children, with a greater severity of the CPOD index in boys (2.09±3.40). Likewise, according to age, the 12 and 13 year age groups presented the greatest severity of the CPOD index in contrast to the other age groups (10.40±3.36 and 9.00±7.21). It can be observed that, of the 92 children evaluated, a similar distribution was shown between the male and female sexes in 50% of each group
