Abstract
El objetivo fue determinar la frecuencia de estas pigmentaciones asociadas al consumo de sulfato ferroso en niños menores de cinco años atendidos en un centro de salud categoría I-3 durante el año 2025. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal y observacional, con muestreo por conveniencia, evaluándose a 97 niños. Los resultados evidenciaron que el 90,7 % presentó pigmentaciones dentarias extrínsecas, siendo más frecuentes en niños de cinco años y afectando principalmente a los incisivos. El mayor tiempo de consumo asociado fue de seis meses. La forma farmacológica más utilizada fue el jarabe y la dosis más común dos cucharaditas diarias. Predominó la pigmentación grado 2 según la clasificación de Gasparetto. En conclusión, se observó una alta frecuencia de pigmentaciones dentarias extrínsecas asociadas al consumo de sulfato ferroso, con variaciones según edad, tiempo de consumo, forma farmacológica y dosis administrada.
