Evaluación de la cibercondría y automedicación en estudiantes de una universidad privada de Huancayo, 2026

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la relación entre la cibercondría y la automedicación en estudiantes de la Escuela Profesional de Ciencias Farmacéuticas y Bioquímica de la Universidad Privada de Huancayo Franklin Roosevelt durante el año 2026.El estudio fue de enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, con diseño no experimental, transversal y correlacional. La población estuvo conformada por 1418 estudiantes y la muestra por 303, seleccionados mediante muestreo probabilístico estratificado. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó la Escala de Severidad de la Cibercondría (CSS-12) y un cuestionario estructurado sobre automedicación. Con resultados los estudiantes presentaron un nivel medio de cibercondría y un nivel medio de automedicación. La prueba de Chi cuadrado evidenció una relación estadísticamente significativa entre ambas variables (χ²=317,009; gl=4; p<0,001). Concluyendo, que existe una relación significativa entre la cibercondría y la automedicación en los estudiantes evaluados; a mayor nivel de cibercondría, mayor nivel de automedicación.

The objective of this research was to evaluate the relationship between cyberchondria and self-medication among students at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biochemistry of the Franklin Roosevelt Private University of Huancayo during 2026. The study employed a quantitative approach and was of an applied nature, utilizing a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The population consisted of 1,418 students, and the sample comprised 303 students selected via stratified probability sampling. Data collection involved the use of the Cyberchondria Severity Scale (CSS-12) and a structured questionnaire on self-medication. The results showed that the students exhibited moderate levels of both cyberchondria and self-medication. The Chi-square test revealed a statistically significant relationship between the two variables (χ² = 317.009; df = 4; p < 0.001). It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between cyberchondria and self-medication among the students evaluated; higher levels of cyberchondria were associated with higher levels of self-medication.
