Abstract
El objetivo de la investigación es caracterizar la automedicación y autoprescripción en estudiantes de un Instituto de Educación Superior, Huánuco – 2023. El método fue un estudio de tipo descriptivo, no experimental, observacional y transversal. La muestra la conformaron 323 estudiantes. Los resultados muestran que el 29,1% lo hacen por falta de tiempo, 65,3% dejan de consumir el medicamento cuando desaparecen los síntomas, 96,3% consideran riesgoso dicha práctica, 42,1% recomienda el consumo de medicamentos a otras personas, 76,8% conservan los medicamentos en su hogar y, 68,1% que se automedicaron y autoprescribieron fue por la gripe. En conclusión, el 90,1% de los estudiantes practican la automedicación, 35,6% la autoprescripción y, 25,7% se automedican y autoprescriben.
