Abstract
La presente investigación tiene por objetivo evaluar el efecto inhibidor de la luz UV de origen cosmético sobre el crecimiento de Saccharomyces cerevisiae. El método fue analítico, transversal, prospectivo y de diseño experimental. La muestra fue conformada por las levaduras Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Los resultados muestran que, para la lámpara de la cabina de bioseguridad tipo II, se apreció una reducción de la densidad poblacional desde 1 minuto de dosis de irradiación y se redujo al 59% aproximadamente al ser irradiada durante 15 minutos. En conclusión, la luz UV emitida es capaz de ejercer un efecto inhibidor sobre el crecimiento de S. cerevisiae lo que el uso de este tipo de artefactos podría afectar a las células de la piel.
The aim of the present investigation was to evaluate the inhibitory effect of UV light of cosmetic origin on the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The method was analytical, cross-sectional, prospective and of experimental design. The sample consisted of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeasts. The results show that, for the type II biosafety cabinet lamp, a reduction in the population density was observed from 1 minute of irradiation dose and was reduced to approximately 59% when irradiated for 15 minutes. In conclusion, the emitted UV light is able to exert an inhibitory effect on the growth of S. cerevisiae and the use of this type of artifact could affect skin cells.
