Abstract
Se evaluó el efecto diurético del extracto etanólico de hojas de Desmodium molliculum (“Manayupa”) en ratas albinas. El extracto se administró en dosis de 300, 600 y 1200 mg/kg, comparándose con suero fisiológico y furosemida. El tamizaje fitoquímico evidenció la presencia de saponinas, flavonoides y compuestos fenólicos. La dosis de 1200 mg/kg produjo el mayor volumen urinario (14.2 mL), un %EVU de 135% y un valor de Lipschitz de 0.9 (p < 0.05). Además, se observó un efecto diurético dependiente de la dosis. Se concluyó que el extracto posee una alta actividad diurética, alcanzando una eficacia equivalente al 90% de la furosemida.
The diuretic effect of the ethanolic extract of Desmodium molliculum (“Manayupa”) leaves was evaluated in albino rats. The extract was administered at doses of 300, 600, and 1200 mg/kg and compared to physiological saline and furosemide. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of saponins, flavonoids, and phenolic compounds. The 1200 mg/kg dose produced the highest urine volume (14.2 mL), a %UV of 135%, and a Lipschitz value of 0.9 (p < 0.05). Furthermore, a dose-dependent diuretic effect was observed. It was concluded that the extract has high diuretic activity, achieving an efficacy equivalent to 90% of furosemide.
