Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate the relationship between iron supplementation treatment and the follow-up of iron deficiency anemia in children treated at the Azapampa Health Center during 2024. A descriptive correlational study with a non-experimental design was conducted. The population consisted of 110 children under 5 years of age with iron deficiency anemia, and the sample comprised 86 children. The research instruments were validated through expert review. The results showed that 52.3% of the children were between 25 and 48 months old, 59.3% were female, 54.7% came from urban areas, and 43.0% had been diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia for between 24 and 36 months. It is concluded that there is insufficient evidence of a relationship between iron supplementation treatment and follow-up of iron deficiency anemia, with a weak and non-significant positive correlation observed (p > 0.05), suggesting insufficient follow-up of treatment for childhood anemia.
