| dc.description.abstract | El objetivo fue evaluar el efecto antiulceroso del extracto hidroalcohólico de hojas de Alchornea castaneifolia (“hiporuro”) en ratas albinas. Se aplicó una metodología experimental, prospectiva y transversal, utilizando una muestra de 500 g de material vegetal y 36 ratas divididas en seis grupos. Tras inducir daño gástrico con etanol al 96%, el análisis fitoquímico evidenció presencia de flavonoides, taninos y alcaloides, entre otros. Los resultados mostraron una reducción dosis-dependiente estadísticamente significativa (p < 0,05): el control negativo tuvo un índice ulceroso de 13,17, mientras que el extracto a 100, 200 y 400 mg/kg registró medias de 9,67, 7,00 y 6,17, alcanzando porcentajes de inhibición del 26,58%, 46,84% y 53,16%, respectivamente. Se concluye que el extracto posee efecto antiulceroso, destacando su eficacia a 400 mg/kg, aunque con una protección que no supera al omeprazol (índice de 3,17). | |
| dc.description.abstract | The objective was to evaluate the anti-ulcer effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of Alchornea castaneifolia leaves (“hyporide”) in albino rats. A prospective, cross-sectional experimental methodology was applied, using a 500 g sample of plant material and 36 rats divided into six groups. After inducing gastric damage with 96% ethanol, phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, and alkaloids, among other compounds. The results showed a statistically significant dose-dependent reduction (p < 0.05): the negative control had an ulcer index of 13.17, while the extract at 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg registered means of 9.67, 7.00, and 6.17, respectively, achieving inhibition percentages of 26.58%, 46.84%, and 53.16%. It is concluded that the extract has an anti-ulcer effect, highlighting its effectiveness at 400 mg/kg, although with a protection that does not exceed that of omeprazole (index of 3.17). | |
