Abstract
The objective of the study was to determine the level of knowledge regarding adverse reactions to medroxyprogesterone acetate among women receiving care at the Domingo Olavegoya Hospital in Jauja in 2026. Methodology: This was a basic, descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional study. The population consisted of 135 women of reproductive age, and the sample—selected via simple probability sampling—comprised 100 users. A questionnaire validated by expert judgment was used as the instrument, and data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics (frequencies and percentages). Results: 50.0% of the women demonstrated a moderate level of knowledge, 31.0% a high level, and 19.0% a low level. Conclusion: The level of knowledge was predominantly moderate, and the user profile consisted mainly of women aged 26 to 33 who were homemakers and had been using the method for less than one year.
