Abstract
The research was basic, descriptive, non-experimental, prospective and cross-sectional. The technique used to quantify heavy metals was atomic absorption at the Labicerde laboratory of UNI. The concentrations of lead found were less than 0.03 PPM and cadmium less than 0.008 PPM. Lead (0.01 PPM) and cadmium (0.003 PPM) concentrations exceeded the maximum permissible limit according to water quality regulations. The results show that the water for human consumption is contaminated with lead and cadmium and is therefore unfit for human consumption
