Abstract
The objective of this research was to determine the level of knowledge and attitude of parents regarding the use of metamizole in primary school children in Juliaca (2025). A quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive-correlational cross-sectional design was used, with a probabilistic sample of 90 parents who were given a questionnaire. The results revealed a predominance of low knowledge (67.8%), with only 11.1% having high knowledge; negative attitudes (52.2%) and indifferent attitudes (46.7%) overwhelmingly exceeded positive attitudes (1.1%). The Chi-square test showed a significant association (p=0.000), with high strength (V Cramer=0.67). In conclusion, there is evidence of critical deficiencies in parental pharmacology education, requiring multisectoral interventions to promote the rational use of metamizole and reduce risky self-medication in children's health.
