Abstract
Este estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre la conducta ante el dolor dental y el nivel socioeconómico-cultural en pobladores de la zona urbana del distrito de Salcabamba – Huancavelica. Respecto a la metodología fue un estudio cuantitativo de corte transversal y correlacional, muestreo no probabilístico, se encuestó a 181 adultos. En relación a los resultados, la principal conducta ante el dolor dental fue la automedicación farmacológica (33,7%), atención odontológica (30,9%) y en menor medida la medicina tradicional (13,3%). En caso de recurrir a la automedicación farmacológica usaron los antibióticos (25,4%), y en menor medida los antiinflamatorios y analgésicos (16%). La persona que aconsejó la adquisición del medicamento fue el farmacéutico (19,9%). Respecto a la medicina tradicional los pobladores usaron plantas y/o preparados para calmar el dolor dental, principalmente la caña pura (16,6%), seguido de hoja de coca (14,9%), el clavo de olor (12,7%) y en menor medida utilizaron agua con sal (1,1%). En caso de buscar atención odontológica para aliviar el dolor dental el tratamiento que eligieron fue extracción dental (29,8%) seguido de curación dental (12,7%), y en menor medida optaron por la endodoncia (8,3%). El nivel socioeconómico-cultural de los pobladores de la zona urbana es de nivel medio (57,5%), seguido del nivel bajo (32,6%) y nivel alto (9,9%). Se llegó a la conclusión que existe relación entre la conducta ante el dolor dental y el nivel socioeconómico-cultural en pobladores de la zona urbana del distrito de Salcabamba- Huancavelica (P=0,011)
The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between dental pain behavior and the socioeconomic-cultural level of the population in the urban area of the district of Salcabamba - Huancavelica. The methodology was a quantitative cross-sectional and correlational study, non-probabilistic sampling, and 181 adults were surveyed. In relation to the results, the main behavior in the face of dental pain was pharmacological self-medication (33.7%), dental care (30.9%) and to a lesser degree traditional medicine (13.3%). In the case of resorting to pharmacological self-medication they used antibiotics (25.4%), and to a lesser extent anti-inflammatory drugs and analgesics (16%). The person who advised the acquisition of the medicine was the pharmacist (19.9%). Regarding traditional medicine, the villagers used plants and/or preparations to soothe dental pain, mainly pure sugar cane (16.6%), followed by coca leaf (14.9%), clove (12.7%) and to a lesser extent water with salt (1.1%). In the case of seeking dental care to alleviate dental pain the treatment they chose was dental extraction (29.8%) followed by dental healing (12.7%), and to a lesser extent they opted for endodontics (8.3%). The socioeconomic and cultural level of the inhabitants of the urban area was medium (57.5%), followed by low (32.6%) and high (9.9%). It was concluded that there is a relationship between dental pain behavior and the socioeconomic-cultural level of the inhabitants of the urban zone of the district of Salcabamba-Huancavelica (P=0.011)
