Abstract
La investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el uso del AOE y el conocimiento sobre sus efectos colaterales en mujeres en edad fértil. Fue de tipo básico, cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal y correlacional. La muestra estuvo conformada por usuarias de la farmacia Farma Inkamay Salud, a quienes se aplicó un cuestionario validado y confiable. Los datos fueron analizados mediante estadística descriptiva, inferencial y Rho de Spearman. El 77,2% presentó un uso moderado a alto del AOE y el 65,2% recurrió a la automedicación. Asimismo, el 58,7% presentó un nivel medio de conocimiento sobre sus efectos colaterales. Se concluyó que no existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre el uso del AOE y el conocimiento sobre sus efectos colaterales.
The study aimed to determine the relationship between the use of oral emergency contraception (OEC) and knowledge regarding its side effects among women of reproductive age. It was a basic, quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study. The sample consisted of users of the Farma Inkamay Salud pharmacy, who completed a validated and reliable questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, as well as Spearman's Rho. Results showed that 77.2% of the participants exhibited moderate to high OEC usage, and 65.2% engaged in self-medication. Additionally, 58.7% demonstrated a moderate level of knowledge regarding side effects. It was concluded that there is no statistically significant relationship between OEC use and knowledge of its side effects.
