Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine the prevalence of distal second molar caries in relation to mandibular third molar retention in a radiology center, 2022. As method, descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional design was used. Sampling was performed by probability rule or simple case. The results, 70% presented dental caries in the second molar, 61% presented third molars impacted in the mesioangular and 39% presented third molars impacted horizontally. In conclusion, distal caries in second molars is associated with impaction of the mandibular third molar in the radiological center, 2022.
