Abstract
Gastrointestinal disorders are a highly prevalent public health problem worldwide. The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between the consumption of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and gastrointestinal disorders in users of the Ocopilla Health Center, Huancayo 2024. The research methodology was basic, correlational, and non-experimental, consisting of 297 users selected through non-probabilistic sampling. Data collection was carried out using a survey technique, through an anonymous questionnaire. The results reveal that the population studied at the Ocopilla Health Center was predominantly female and young, with intermediate to high educational levels, suggesting a relatively informed community. Naproxen 550 mg was the most commonly consumed NSAID, followed by ibuprofen and acetylsalicylic acid, reflecting a preference for accessible pain relief medications. It is concluded that the statistical analysis (χ² = 0.788; p = 0.375) showed that there is no significant relationship between NSAID consumption and gastrointestinal disorders in users of the Ocopilla Health Center, accepting the null hypothesis in this sample.
