Abstract
The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the consumption of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and cardiovascular risk among users of the Ahorrofarma pharmacy during 2024. The study employed a quantitative, applied, correlational, and non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 108 NSAID users, who completed a structured questionnaire. The results showed that 61.1% presented a moderate level of NSAID consumption, and a high frequency of self-medication and cardiovascular risk factors, such as hypertension, sedentary lifestyle, and obesity, were identified. Statistical analysis revealed a statistically significant relationship and a moderate positive correlation between NSAID consumption and cardiovascular risk (p < 0.05). It is concluded that frequent and inappropriate NSAID consumption is associated with a higher cardiovascular risk, highlighting the need to strengthen health education strategies, pharmacovigilance, and the rational use of medications.
