Abstract

The research was basic in nature, with a non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 48 adults with high blood pressure, using a census and non-probability convenience sampling. The results showed that 40% had an average level of knowledge and 54% practiced moderately adequate self-care. Likewise, 31% simultaneously demonstrated average knowledge and moderately adequate practices. Kendall's Tau-b test yielded a p-value <0.05 and a coefficient of 0.686. In conclusion, a direct and moderate relationship was determined between knowledge and self-care practices in the adults with hypertension studied.
