Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó con el objetivo de demostrar el efecto mucolíticos del extracto hidroalcoholico de las hojas del Piper aduncum (Matico) en ratas albinas holtzman. Los metabolitos secundarios que presenta el Piper aduncum son: de mayor abundancia los flavonoides seguidos por los compuestos fenólicos, taninos, alcaloides y saponinas, luego encontramos los triterpenos, lactona α, β insaturadas, azúcares reductores, carbohidratos. El estudio se centra en un modelo experimental, el efecto mucolítico se realizó mediante el método in vitro de rojo de fenol en secreciones traqueobronquial de la rata, a diferentes dosis del extracto (250, 500 y 1000mg/Kg) y comparado con el control positivo Bromhexina a dosis de 40mg/Kg. El efecto mucolítico basado en el porcentaje de absorbancia fue de 68.89%, 84.86% y 91.40% a la dosis de trabajo antes mencionadas y 94.36% de la Bromhexina siendo estadísticamente significativo (p-valor<0.005). Concluyendo de que las hojas del extracto hidroalcoholico del Piper aduncum si poseen efecto mucolítico
The present research work was carried out with the objective of demonstrating the mucolytic effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of Piper aduncum (Matico) leaves in holtzman albino rats. The secondary metabolites presented by Piper aduncum are: the most abundant flavonoids followed by phenolic compounds, tannins, alkaloids and saponins, then we found triterpenes, α lactone, β unsaturated, reducing sugars, carbohydrates. The study focuses on an experimental model, the mucolytic effect was performed by the in vitro method of phenol red in tracheobronchial secretions of the rat, at different doses of the extract (250, 500 and 1000mg/kg) and compared with the positive control Bromhexine at a dose of 40mg/kg. The mucolytic effect based on the absorbance percentage was 68.89%, 84.86% and 91.40% at the above mentioned working doses and 94.36% of Bromhexine being statistically significant (p-value<0.005). Concluding that the leaves of the hydroalcoholic extract of Piper aduncum do have mucolytic effect
