Abstract
La presente investigación tiene como objetivo evaluar el efecto diurético del extracto etanólico de las hojas de Piper carpunya Ruíz & Pav. (carpundia) en ratas albinas”. El diseño empleado fue experimental y nivel explicativo; para la muestra se repartieron al azar en cinco grupos, formado por 5 ratas. Los resultados según los porcentajes de excreción volumétrica urinaria son: 56.4%, 76.4%, 84.9% a concentraciones de 200, 400 y 600 mg/kg comparados a la furosemida que fue 97.3%. La actividad diurética fue de 58%, 79%, 87% a concentraciones de 200, 400 y 600 mg/kg comparado a la furosemida que fue del 100%. Se concluye que el extracto de las hojas de carpundia a la concentración de de 400 y 600 mg/kg mostró un moderado efecto diurético.
