Abstract
El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la relación que existe entre el índice de caries y el nivel de conocimiento de higiene oral en estudiantes de secundaria de la I.E. San José de la provincia de Puno 2024. El estudio fue básico, de diseño metodológico no experimental y correlacional de corte transversal; La muestra estuvo integrada por 75 estudiantes de doce a diecisiete años del nivel secundaria. Respecto a los resultados se obtuvo un índice de caries CPO-D de 11,37 equivalente a “muy alto” y el nivel de conocimiento sobre higiene oral obtenido fue “bueno” en un 70,7%. En conclusión, existe una correlación inversa moderada significativa entre el índice de caries y el nivel de conocimiento de higiene oral en estudiantes de secundaria de la I.E. San José de la provincia de Puno 2024 (Rho Spearman de -0.440 y p-valor de 0,003).
