Uso de vancomicina y meropenem en prematuros del servicio de intermedios en un hospital, Huancayo - 2026

Abstract

La investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar el uso de Vancomicina y Meropenem en neonatos prematuros de un hospital de Huancayo, 2026. La metodología correspondió a un estudio aplicado, descriptivo, no experimental y retrospectivo. La muestra estuvo conformada por 50 historias clínicas de neonatos prematuros, cuyos datos fueron recopilados mediante revisión documental y analizados con estadística descriptiva en SPSS. Como resultados, predominó el sexo masculino (54%), la edad gestacional de 33 a 37 semanas (50%), el peso de 1500 a 2499 g (64%) y la sepsis neonatal tardía (88%). El tratamiento combinado de Vancomicina y Meropenem fue el más frecuente (68%), con predominio de la administración cada 8 horas. La conclusión fue que ambos antimicrobianos se utilizaron principalmente de forma combinada en neonatos prematuros con sepsis neonatal tardía, siendo necesario fortalecer la vigilancia de su uso racional.

The study aimed to analyze the use of vancomycin and meropenem in premature infants at a hospital in Huancayo in 2026. The methodology consisted of an applied, descriptive, non-experimental, and retrospective study. The sample comprised the medical records of 50 premature infants; data were collected through document review and analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS. Results showed a predominance of males (54%), a gestational age of 33 to 37 weeks (50%), a weight of 1500 to 2499 g (64%), and late-onset neonatal sepsis (88%). Combined treatment with vancomycin and meropenem was the most frequent approach (68%), with administration every 8 hours predominating. The study concluded that both antimicrobials were primarily used in combination for premature infants with late-onset neonatal sepsis, highlighting the need to strengthen monitoring of their rational use.
