Abstract

The study employed a quantitative, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 84 patient medical records from 13 health facilities within the network. The results revealed a treatment abandonment rate of 15.48%, demonstrating that male sex, single marital status, alcohol and tobacco use, and the occurrence of side effects significantly influenced treatment interruption. It was concluded that sociodemographic variables, harmful habits, and adverse drug reactions are critical determinants of treatment abandonment.
