Abstract
The objective of this research was to determine the factors associated with iron deficiency anemia in children under 3 years of age at the Sapallanga Health Center in Huancayo, 2026. A basic, non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional study was conducted. The population consisted of 270 children under 3 years of age, and the sample comprised 159 children, selected using simple random probability sampling. The results showed an association between anemia and maternal, perinatal, nutritional, and health factors, with a higher frequency observed in children of mothers over 20 years of age, families with low incomes, inadequate nutrition, and a history of malnutrition. A higher prevalence was also observed in children with certain housing conditions and limited access to basic services. The study concludes that there are factors significantly associated with iron deficiency anemia in children under 3 years of age at the Sapallanga Health Center in Huancayo, 2026, as demonstrated by a chi-square value with p < 0.05.
