Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the degree of variation of the methods of Knebelman, Willis and the resting position method in the determination of the occlusal vertical dimension (OVD), The method of this research was observational, descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective. The results show that the mean DVO according to Knebelman's method was 65.37±5.7 mm; the eye - right ear distance was 69.23 ± 5.4 mm and the eye - left ear distance was 69.19 ± 5.3 mm. In conclusion, the most important thing is that there is similarity in the measurements obtained by the Knebelman, Willis and resting position methods to determine the occlusal vertical dimension.
