Abstract
El objetivo es describir la automedicación odontológica en los estudiantes de una institución educativa inicial de la ciudad de Arequipa en los tiempos de pandemia COVID-19, la investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo y un diseño no experimental, transversal y descriptivo. Se utilizó el cuestionario como técnica instrumental, se tomó una muestra de 40 niños de 3, 4 y 5 años de edad. Los resultados que se obtuvieron indican que el 50.0 % de los padres usaron la automedicación natural para problemas dentales de los niños durante la pandemia de COVID-19; el 35.0% de los restantes, recurrieron a la automedicación farmacológica. Quedó establecido que la automedicación odontológica es efectiva en un 70.0%, ante un 30.0% ineficaz en los niños.
The objective is to describe dental self-medication in students of an initial educational institution in the city of Arequipa during the COVID-19 pandemic, the research has a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive design. The questionnaire was used as an instrumental technique, a sample of 40 children of 3, 4 and 5 years of age was taken. The results obtained indicate that 50.0 % of the parents used natural self-medication for dental problems in children during the COVID-19 pandemic; 35.0 % of the remaining parents resorted to pharmacological self-medication. It was established that dental self-medication was 70.0% effective, compared to 30.0% ineffective in children.
