Abstract
The study evaluated the factors associated with anemia in pregnant women at the Perene “Ciudad Satélite” Health Center in 2024. It was a basic, correlational, cross-sectional study with a sample of 50 pregnant women selected through intentional non-probabilistic sampling. Using the chi-square test, a significant association was found between anemia and pre-pregnancy body mass index (χ²=12.733; p=0.005), parity (χ²=14.692; p=0.002), and level of education (χ²=14.692; p=0.002). No significant relationship was found with age (χ²=0.617; p=0.893) or intergenetic period (χ²=2.330; p=0.507). It is concluded that gestational anemia is significantly associated with nutritional, reproductive, and educational factors, but not with chronological age or intergenetic period in this population.
