Abstract
El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la relación entre la incidencia de casos de dengue y la demanda institucional de analgésicos y antipiréticos en los establecimientos de salud de la Selva Central durante el periodo 2019–2025. Se realizó un estudio aplicado, de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño observacional, correlacional y no experimental. La muestra estuvo conformada por 31 establecimientos de salud, utilizando registros oficiales de casos de dengue y del consumo promedio mensual ajustado de paracetamol e ibuprofeno. Los resultados evidenciaron que la Selva Central concentró la mayor incidencia de dengue en la región Junín, con un pico epidémico en 2021, mientras que el mayor consumo de antipiréticos se registró en la provincia de Satipo. El análisis de Spearman no mostró una relación significativa entre la incidencia de dengue y la demanda de paracetamol (p = 0,252) ni de ibuprofeno (p = 0,245); sin embargo, se observó una correlación positiva muy alta entre ambos medicamentos (ρ = 0,991; p < 0,01). Se concluye que no existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre la incidencia de dengue y la demanda institucional de estos antipiréticos, por lo que es necesario fortalecer la planificación farmacéutica y el abastecimiento en el primer nivel de atención.
The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the incidence of dengue cases and the institutional demand for analgesics and antipyretics in health facilities in the Central Jungle region during the period 2019–2025. An applied study with a quantitative approach, observational, correlational, and non-experimental design was conducted. The sample consisted of 31 health facilities, using official records of dengue cases and the adjusted average monthly consumption of paracetamol and ibuprofen. The results showed that the Central Jungle region had the highest incidence of dengue in the Junín region, with an epidemic peak in 2021, while the highest consumption of antipyretics was recorded in the province of Satipo. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient did not show a significant relationship between the incidence of dengue and the demand for paracetamol (p = 0.252) or ibuprofen (p = 0.245). However, a very high positive correlation was observed between the two medications (ρ = 0.991; p < 0.01). It is concluded that there is no statistically significant relationship between the incidence of dengue and the institutional demand for these antipyretics; therefore, it is necessary to strengthen pharmaceutical planning and supply at the primary care level.
