Conocimiento de salud bucal e índice de caries en adultos jóvenes de la institución Manuel Antonio Hierro Pozo - Ayacucho 2023.

Abstract

El objetivo de la presente investigación fue determinar el nivel de conocimiento en salud bucal y el índice CPOD en adultos jóvenes de la institución Manuel Antonio Hierro Pozo – Ayacucho 2023. Tiene un enfoque cuantitativo y diseño descriptivo correlacional. Se utilizó un cuestionario y una ficha clínica para recolectar los datos. Los resultados de conocimiento en salud bucal y el índice CPOD, el nivel de conocimiento de toda la muestra fue de alto en un 72,7%, regular 22,4% y malo en 4,8%, de acuerdo al sexo ambos tuvieron un nivel alto 36,4%; el índice CPOD fue de 6,93, la prevalencia de caries según el CPOD fue de muy alto en 55,2%, alto 9,7%, moderado 18,2%, bajo 8,5% y muy bajo 8,5%. Concluimos que existe correlación inversa baja entre el nivel de conocimiento en salud bucal y el índice CPOD.

The objective of this research was to determine the level of oral health knowledge and the CPOD index in young adults of the Manuel Antonio Hierro Pozo - Ayacucho 2023 institution. It has a quantitative approach and a descriptive correlational design. A questionnaire and a clinical record were used to collect data. The results of oral health knowledge and the CPOD index, the level of knowledge of the whole sample was high in 72.7%, regular 22.4% and bad in 4.8%, according to sex both had a high level 36.4%; the CPOD index was 6.93, the prevalence of caries according to the CPOD was very high in 55.2%, high 9.7%, moderate 18.2%, low 8.5% and very low 8.5%. We conclude that there is a low inverse correlation between the level of oral health knowledge and the CPOD index.
