Conocimiento de higiene bucal e índice gingival en adolescentes de una institución educativa de San Juan de Lurigancho, 2022

Abstract

El objetivo es determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento de la higiene bucal y el índice gingival en adolescentes de una Institución Educativa en San Juan de Lurigancho 2022. El estudio fue de tipo descriptivo, correlacional y transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 130 estudiantes. La técnica para la recolección de datos fue mediante la encuesta y la observación. Resultó que el 50% de los estudiantes con encías sanas se encuentran en nivel de logro de conocimiento de la higiene bucal y el otro 50% se ubican en el nivel de conocimiento en proceso. Conclusión: No existe relación entre el nivel de conocimiento de la higiene bucal y el índice gingival, pues la prueba de Chi Cuadrado dio un p-valor de 0,599 no existiendo asociación entre las variables.

The objective was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of oral hygiene and the gingival index in adolescents of an educational institution in San Juan de Lurigancho 2022. The study was descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 130 students. The data collection technique was by means of a survey and observation. It was found that 50% of the students with healthy gums are at the level of achievement of knowledge of oral hygiene and the other 50% are at the level of knowledge in process. Conclusion: There is no relationship between the level of knowledge of oral hygiene and the gingival index, since the Chi-square test gave a p-value of 0.599 and there was no association between the variables.
