Conocimiento sobre técnicas de cepillado y su relación con los factores académicos en estudiantes de una universidad privada, Huancayo, 2025

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre técnicas de cepillado dental y los factores académicos en estudiantes de una universidad privada de Huancayo, 2025. La investigación fue de enfoque cuantitativo, nivel correlacional, diseño no experimental y de corte transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 278 estudiantes de Estomatología y la muestra por 162 estudiantes seleccionados mediante muestreo aleatorio simple. Los resultados evidenciaron relación significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y la edad (p = 0,019), así como con el ciclo académico (p = 0,005). No se encontró relación significativa con el sexo, rendimiento académico ni experiencia en atención a pacientes. Se concluye que la edad y el ciclo académico influyen significativamente en el conocimiento sobre técnicas de cepillado dental.

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge regarding dental brushing techniques and academic factors among students at a private university in Huancayo in 2025. The research employed a quantitative approach, a correlational level, a non-experimental design, and a cross-sectional scope. The population consisted of 278 Stomatology students, while the sample comprised 162 students selected via simple random sampling. The results revealed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and age (p = 0.019), as well as with the academic semester (p = 0.005). No significant relationship was found regarding gender, academic performance, or experience in patient care. It is concluded that age and academic semester significantly influence knowledge regarding dental brushing techniques.
