Abstract
La investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar el efecto hipoglucemiante del extracto hidroalcohólico de hojas de Alchornea castaneifolia “Hiporuro” en ratas albinas. Se realizó un estudio aplicado con diseño experimental, prospectivo y longitudinal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 25 ratas albinas distribuidas en cinco grupos experimentales. Se preparó el extracto hidroalcohólico y se identificaron metabolitos secundarios mediante tamizaje fitoquímico. La actividad hipoglucemiante se determinó mediante la medición de glucosa sanguínea. Los resultados demostraron la presencia de compuestos bioactivos y una reducción de glucosa en las dosis evaluadas. Se concluyó que el extracto presentó efecto hipoglucemiante en ratas albinas.
The study aimed to evaluate the hypoglycemic effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of *Alchornea castaneifolia* ("Hiporuro") leaves in albino rats. An applied study with an experimental, prospective, and longitudinal design was conducted. The sample consisted of 25 albino rats distributed into five experimental groups. The hydroalcoholic extract was prepared, and secondary metabolites were identified through phytochemical screening. Hypoglycemic activity was determined by measuring blood glucose levels. The results demonstrated the presence of bioactive compounds and a reduction in glucose levels at the doses evaluated. It was concluded that the extract exhibited a hypoglycemic effect in albino rats.
