Abstract
El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo demostrar el efecto antimicótico del aceite y extracto etanólico de Melissa oficcinalis (toronjil) frente Candida albicans. Para determinar el efecto antimicótico de la planta se utilizó el método de difusión en pozo. Los resultados mostraron que el extracto etanólico de toronjil frente a Candida albicans al 50% obtuvo un halo de inhibición de 11,87 mm y al 100% fue de 14,73, por otro lado, el aceite de toronjil al 50% tuvo halos de inhibición de 47,59 mm y al 100% fue de 52,42 mm, así mismo, el control negativo empleado (etanol) obtuvo halo de inhibición de 5,91 mm y el control positivo obtuvo halo de 32,11mm. Se concluye que el aceite y extracto etanólico de Melissa oficcinalis (toronjil) presenta efecto antimicotico frente Candida albicans
The objective of this work was to demonstrate the antifungal effect of the oil and ethanolic extract of Melissa oficcinalis (lemon balm) against Candida albicans. The well diffusion method was used to determine the antifungal effect of the plant. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of lemon balm against Candida albicans at 50% obtained an inhibition halo of 11.87 mm and at 100% it was 14.73, on the other hand, the oil of lemon balm at 50% had inhibition halos of 47.59 mm and at 100% it was 52.42 mm, likewise, the negative control used (ethanol) obtained inhibition halo of 5.91 mm and the positive control obtained halo of 32.11 mm.
