Adherencia del medicamento sulfato ferroso en la prevención de Anemia Ferropénica en niños menores de 1 año de edad – 2024.

Abstract

El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la adherencia al sulfato ferroso en la prevención de la anemia ferropénica en niños menores de un año atendidos en el Centro de Salud La Libertad – Huancayo, 2024. Método estudio de tipo básico, nivel descriptivo y diseño transversal no experimental. La muestra estuvo conformada por 292 niños menores de un año de edad. Resultados: el 78,1% de los padres negó haber olvidado administrar el medicamento a sus hijos. El 71,2% reconoció que no cumple con dar el sulfato ferroso en el horario indicado. El 73,97% señaló que no interrumpe el tratamiento al notar mejoría en el niño. El 69,86% indicó que aun cuando el niño presenta malestar después de la toma, no suspenden el tratamiento. El nivel educativo predominante de los padres fue superior técnico con 68,2%. Se concluye que no existe adherencia adecuada en la prevención de la anemia ferropénica en los niños menores de un año.

The study aimed to determine adherence to ferrous sulfate in the prevention of iron deficiency anemia in children under one year of age treated at the La Libertad Health Center in Huancayo in 2024. Method: basic study, descriptive level, and non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 292 children under one year of age. Results: 78.1% of parents denied having forgotten to administer the medication to their children. 71.2% acknowledged that they did not comply with giving ferrous sulfate at the indicated time. 73.97% said they did not interrupt treatment when they noticed improvement in their child. 69.86% said that even when their child felt unwell after taking the medication, they did not suspend treatment. The predominant educational level of the parents was technical degree or higher, at 68.2%. It was concluded that there is inadequate adherence to the prevention of iron deficiency anemia in children under one year of age.
