Abstract

Irreversible pulpitis was diagnosed in 44.1% of the sample. Spearman's correlation analysis yielded a coefficient of r = 0.357 (p = 0.003). It is concluded that, although knowledge of oral hygiene influences oral health, other factors may be contributing to the prevalence of this pathology.
