Abstract
El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la actividad antiinflamatoria del gel con extracto etanólico de hojas de Trema micranthum (L.) Blume (“atadijo”) en ratones albinos. Se realizó una investigación de tipo experimental utilizando ratones albinos de 20 a 30 g y de 6 a 8 semanas de edad, distribuidos en cinco grupos experimentales (n = 4): control negativo (gel base), control positivo (diclofenaco al 1 %) y tres grupos tratados con geles con extracto al 1 %, 3 % y 5 %. El edema fue inducido mediante la aplicación de xileno en la oreja derecha y posteriormente se administró el gel correspondiente. Asimismo, se realizó una marcha fitoquímica para identificar los metabolitos secundarios presentes en el extracto. Los resultados evidenciaron la presencia de flavonoides, taninos y polifenoles, y la ausencia de alcaloides y saponinas. Se concluye que el gel con extracto etanólico de hojas de Trema micranthum presenta actividad antiinflamatoria dosis dependiente, atribuible a la presencia de flavonoides, taninos y polifenoles.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of a gel containing an ethanolic extract of Trema micranthum (L.) Blume (“atadijo”) leaves in albino mice. An experimental study was conducted using albino mice weighing 20–30 g and aged 6–8 weeks, divided into five experimental groups (n = 4): a negative control (base gel), a positive control (1% diclofenac), and three groups treated with gels containing 1%, 3%, and 5% extract. Edema was induced by applying xylene to the right ear, followed by the application of the corresponding gel. A phytochemical screening was also performed to identify the secondary metabolites present in the extract. The results showed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, and polyphenols, and the absence of alkaloids and saponins. It is concluded that the gel with ethanolic extract of Trema micranthum leaves presents dose-dependent anti-inflammatory activity, attributable to the presence of flavonoids, tannins and polyphenols.
