Abstract
El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la frecuencia de agenesia del tercer molar en una clínica dental. El método de investigación fue básica, retrospectivo, transversal y observacional; el diseño fue no experimental descriptivo. La muestra tuvo 402 panorámicas. Los resultados muestran que la frecuencia de la agenesia del tercer molar fue de 21.4%, el sexo femenino (22.4%) presentó una frecuencia mayor al masculino (20.1%). El grupo etario de 12 a 13 años (25.9%). El cuadrante más afectado fue el primero (3.2%). En conclusión, la frecuencia de la agenesia del tercer molar fue de 21.4%, se identificó una mayor frecuencia en el sexo femenino y en el grupo etario de 12 a 13 años.
The objective of the research was to determine the frequency of third molar agenesis in a dental clinic. The research method was basic, retrospective, cross-sectional and observational; the design was descriptive non-experimental. The sample consisted of 402 panoramic images. The results show that the frequency of third molar agenesis was 21.4%, the female sex (22.4%) presented a higher frequency than the male sex (20.1%). The age group was 12 to 13 years (25.9%). The most affected quadrant was the first quadrant (3.2%). In conclusion, the frequency of third molar agenesis was 21.4%, with a higher frequency in the female sex and in the age group 12 to 13 years.
