Abstract
El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar las propiedades fisicoquímicas, microbiológicas y terapéuticas de las aguas termales en las fuentes naturales de San Cristóbal. Se aplicó una investigación básica o pura, no experimental, las cuales incluyó análisis de laboratorio y encuestas a 52 usuarios frecuentes. Los resultados físico químicos revelaron un pH ligeramente alcalino (7.72), con concentraciones elevadas de calcio(130.89mg/L), magnesio(97.02mg/L), sulfatos(784.93mg/L), bicarbonatos(573.06mg/L) y hierro(4.64mg/L). No obstante, microbiológicamente se detectó una carga bacteriana significativa (2.5 x 10³ NMP/100mL), lo que indica que su uso debe limitarse a fines externos. En conclusión; las aguas termales poseen un alto potencial terapéutico, aunque es indispensable mantener su monitoreo microbiológico para garantizar la seguridad de los usuarios.

Basic or pure, non-experimental research was conducted, which included laboratory analyses and surveys of 52 frequent users. The physicochemical results revealed a slightly alkaline pH (7.72), with high concentrations of calcium (130.89 mg/L), magnesium (97.02 mg/L), sulfates (784.93 mg/L), bicarbonates (573.06 mg/L), and iron (4.64 mg/L). However, microbiologically, a significant bacterial load (2.5 x 10³ NMP/100mL) was detected, indicating that its use should be limited to external purposes. In conclusion, the thermal waters have high therapeutic potential, although it is essential to maintain microbiological monitoring to ensure user safety.
