Abstract
El objetivo es determinar el uso de plantas medicinales para el tratamiento de la dismenorrea en mujeres del distrito de El Tambo, provincia de Huancayo, región Junín. El método es básico, descriptivo, transversal y no experimental, la muestra la constituyeron 132 participantes. Los resultados muestran que el 43,9 % de las mujeres tienen entre 26 y 30 años, el 46,2 % son convivientes y el 81,8 % utilizan anticoncepción hormonal. Asimismo, el 88,6 % mantienen una vida sexual activa y el 68,9 % reportan períodos menstruales de 1 a 4 días. Se identifican las plantas medicinales más utilizadas para tratar la dismenorrea: el 68,9 % de las mujeres emplean orégano, seguido de la manzanilla (12,1 %). Además, el 61,4 % utiliza hojas para preparar los tratamientos y el 72,0 % prefiere infusiones. En conclusión, las mujeres recurren frecuentemente al uso de plantas medicinales, especialmente el orégano, como alternativa para tratar la dismenorrea.
The objective is to determine the use of medicinal plants for the treatment of dysmenorrhea in women from the district of El Tambo, province of Huancayo, Junín region. The method is basic, descriptive, cross-sectional and non-experimental, the sample consisted of 132 participants. The results show that 43.9% of the women are between 26 and 30 years old, 46.2% are cohabitating and 81.8% use hormonal contraception. Likewise, 88.6 % maintain an active sexual life and 68.9 % report menstrual periods of 1 to 4 days. The medicinal plants most commonly used to treat dysmenorrhea were identified: 68.9 % of the women use oregano, followed by chamomile (12.1 %). In addition, 61.4 % use leaves to prepare treatments and 72.0 % prefer infusions. In conclusion, women frequently resort to the use of medicinal plants, especially oregano, as an alternative to treat dysmenorrhea.
