Abstract
El objetivo es determinar la prevalencia de caries dental y gingivitis en niños de 06 y 07 años de edad de la Institución Educativa “Jorge Basadre”, distrito José Luis Bustamante y Rivero, Arequipa, Mayo – 2022. Como método, se utilizó un diseño de estudio de tipo observacional, descriptivo, de corte transversal. Se aplicó el muestreo por conveniencia, y fueron seleccionados 102 niños de 6 a 7 años de edad. La técnica empleada fue desarrollada en dos etapas, evaluación odontológica a los niños y la aplicación de encuestas a los padres o apoderados. En conclusión, se encontraron altos índices de prevalencias de caries dental y gingivitis, el grupo de las niñas fueron las más afectadas con mayores índices de prevalencia de caries dental y gingivitis.

In conclusion, high prevalence rates of dental caries and gingivitis were found, the group of girls were the most affected with the highest prevalence rates of dental caries and gingivitis.
