Abstract
El objetivo fue identificar la prevalencia de Reacciones Adversas en pacientes diabéticos medicados con metformina que frecuentan un establecimiento farmacéutico del distrito de Huancayo. La metodología fue descriptiva, diseño no experimental y de corte transversal; con una muestra de 98. Los resultados muestran que el 71.4% no sufrieron reacciones adversas al medicarse con metformina, el 28.6% que sí sufrieron reacciones adversas presentaron mayormente náuseas, dolor de estómago, acidez y diarrea, el 71.4% no presentaron hipoglicemia, el 59.2% sufrían de alguna otra enfermedad crónica como la hipertensión, obesidad, hipercolesterolemia. En conclusión, las reacciones adversas que presentaron los pacientes fue en mínimo porcentaje y padecen mayormente de otras enfermedades crónicas.

The results show that 71.4% did not suffer adverse reactions when taking metformin, 28.6% who did suffer adverse reactions presented mostly nausea, stomach pain, heartburn and diarrhea, 71.4% did not present hypoglycemia, 59.2% suffered from some other chronic disease such as hypertension, obesity, hypercholesterolemia. In conclusion, the adverse reactions presented by the patients were minimal and they suffered mostly from other chronic diseases.
